Dear friends,
On the eve of the new Rotary year, Krasimir Veselinov, the President of RC Sofia-Balkan 2022-2023, handed over the presidency to Maria Mircheva.
During a ceremony titled “Collar Handover,” the leadership boards of RC Sofia-Vitosha, RC Sofia-Capital, RC Sofia-Balkan, and Rotaract Sofia Vitosha-Izgrev underwent a transition.
The celebratory event took place in the serene forest setting of Borisova Gradina at the “Forest” restaurant.
Krasimir Veselinov expressed his gratitude to all the friends who supported him throughout the year, contributing to the successful implementation of projects, club development, and the establishment of new friendships. Their efforts were acknowledged and praised at the district conference. The milestone of the club’s 20th anniversary was particularly celebrated, and a highly successful project supporting the only fully wooden church in Bulgaria, “Transfiguration of the Lord” in Borovec, was carried out. During the event, Krasimir also seized the opportunity to support the cause by offering a bottle of historic Serbian plum brandy for auction, which was purchased by Dimitar Mandrazhiev.
Krasimir wished Maria Mircheva, the new club President, a year filled with success, peace, and fruitful endeavors.
In response, Maria expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and anticipated the challenges that lie ahead under her leadership. As a token of appreciation for Krasimir’s service and successful term, she presented him with the traditional President’s gavel and a beautiful wood carving featuring the Rotary wheel.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of friends from ROK Bistritsa, accompanied by the mayor of Bistritsa and his spouse. Their support and collaboration were vital in ensuring the successful realization and sustainability of joint projects undertaken by the club and the local community.
The event exuded a spirit of friendship, joy, and resonated with the carefree laughter of the attending children – the future Rotarians.
