On May 11th , 2018, members of Rotary Club Sofia-Balkan celebrated their 15th birthday accompanied by their friends from the Rotary clubs in Bulgaria and their families. This year, the motto of the event was “Let’s exercise by dancing in sneakers and high-heels.” Favorite Bulgarian musicians such as Lyubo Kirov, Poduene blues band and Ralitsa Grudeva performed in the musical program.
The cause of the event was the club’s long-term social project – supporting the basketball team for people in wheelchairs Sofia-Balkan. During the auction the audience was bidding for a handmade eagle by Vasil Govedarski from Ovchartsi village. At the quiet auction were sold icons by the icon-painter Mihail Kolev from Rose village, Tundzha municipality. The money raised will be used to buy specialized sports wheelchairs for the team.
