The first tournament in Bulgarian for basketball in wheelchairs was held on July, 14th and 15th in Gabrovo. Sofia-Balkan team won the first place with 36 points after a dramatic battle against last year’s champion CSKA, which finished with 35 points. The player with highest number of scored points 14 was Stewart Olson , who is currently playing in the Greek championship, while 10 points were scored by Alexander Popov. Ilian Atanasov finished with 8 points. For CSKA team Georgi Ivanov has scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Nikolay Vaklinov added 8 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
Coach of Sofia-Balkan team is Vladimir Iskrov. This year Sofia-Balkan team became the first Bulgarian basketball champion in wheelchairs.
