On October 17, 2023, a significant meeting with District Governor Hristo Mihaylovski took place at Hotel Forum, Sofia. The event brought together representatives from five Sofia-based clubs: Rotary Club Sofia-Balkan, RC Sofia-Vitosha, RC Sofia-Vazrazhdane, RC Sofia-Nextum, and our gracious hosts, RC Sofia-City. The gathering was attended by the clubs’ presidents, Assistant District Governors for Zones 1 and 2—Svetoslav Tanchovski and Miroslav Tsakov—and over 40 fellow Rotarians.

During his presentation, District Governor Hristo Mihaylovski shared insights into the global challenges facing Rotary International under the leadership of RI President Gordon McInally and outlined the goals for our District for the 2023–2024 Rotary year.

The District Governor called upon all members to cherish the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding within our clubs and to unite our efforts in support of our communities. He emphasized that the sustainable development of Rotary in Bulgaria depends on continuity and close collaboration with our Rotaract and Interact clubs. Furthermore, the DG highlighted the importance of strengthening Rotary’s public image and club activity, pledging the District’s full support for every worthy cause and project initiative.

Special emphasis was placed on key issues, including mental health among young people and the demographic crisis in the country.

In turn, the club presidents presented their primary projects for the current year, all of which are clearly aligned with the broader District themes.

We extend our sincere gratitude to DG Hristo Mihaylovski for an inspiring meeting, to our friends from RC Sofia-City for their hospitality, and to all the Rotarians with whom we shared a vision for the future!
